Horrific experience with this groomer. I HIGHLY recommend avoiding for the safety of your beloved pet. Our dog, Finn, had some minor matting, nothing too... significant. After we brought him to the mobile salon and instructed the groomer as to how to cut him, the groomer decided, without our prior consent to shave him! She sent me a photo after the fact and informed me that she had to shave him. In reality, my suspicion is that she did not want to take the time and effort to properly cut him given his very minor matting and instead took true lazy route. I would not have consented to him being shaved. To make matters worse, he came back to us with severe razor burns or bruising from the restraining harness on his neck! Horrific experience. PLEASE AVOID for the safety and well being of your beloved pets!read more

Apparently this company believes appointments should be at the convenience of their groomers, not their customers. I have had numerous scheduling problems and... cancellations by them and am told they do not intend to change the way they schedule and do business. Most recently...

I scheduled (well in advance) a Monday, April 4, 9:30 AM grooming appointment for our two dogs. At 8:43 AM I received a text message from the groomer, "Keala": "a pup was book uncorrectly i should be there at 10:30". All spelling and grammatical errors are hers, which should tell you something.

I have explained to their scheduler, "Josh" multiple times and in great detail why the 9:30 AM time is important to us. So, following the above incident, I once again asked, "When is the next available 9:30 AM appointment?". I was advised that Thursday, April 21st was that day. I accepted the day/time and received the usual text confirmations from the company; including another on Tuesday, April 19th.

On the day of the appointment, April 21st, I received a text message at 6:46 AM from Keala: "Hello this Keala first appointment canceled thi morning wondering if 8am works for you guys". Again, spelling and grammatical errors are hers. I replied, "No, I'm sorry Keala, but it has to be 9:30." She replied/lied, "I'm sorry but they put you down for 845 That was the original appointment time". I replied back, providing a copy of the company's confirmation text from Tuesday. I then, reluctantly accepted the 8:45 slot. Keala responded back, "I've reached out to the office regarding the concerns you have and and they moved you to 930". Despite the fact that they "moved me" (to the originally confirmed time), I replied back, "Then I will see you at 9:30".

So, 9:30 rolls around. Then 9:45. Then 10:00 and no Keala. I called the office and again spoke with "Josh". Apparently Keala found another last minute customer and decided to simply cancel me. Josh was aware of this, but didn't feel the need to call me. So, for the second time in two weeks, I'm left with no groomer for my dogs. And Josh doesn't care. Claims it's the nature of their scheduling and the fact that their groomers are on commission and if they get a cancellation, they'll fill it however they can; even if it means cancelling or inconveniencing another customer. WTF???

I have never encountered a service business this incompetent and lacking in common sense and basic customer service norms.

Obviously, I am done with Happy Spa Dogs Mobile Grooming. And I am hopeful that by sharing this story, I will save others from having to endure similar aggravation.

Then the groomer sent a text announcing she would arrive at 3:30. I politely reminded her that I booked the appointment for 4:30… that I would not be home until 4pm from picking kids up from school. She rudely replied “well, as long as it’s 4pm”. I then reminded her my appointment is at 4:30 not 4pm but that I would gladly do her the favor of moving up 30 min to accommodate.NO S H O W‼️ No surprise though. I previously applied to work for this company and did a second interview with the owner that made me feel responsible for sharing... this.I am an animal lover and it would be a dream to have my job as working with animals in some capacity. This company was offering a groomer-in-training position with no experience required and the possibility of making over $100k a year if you were picked to be trained and certified as a full groomer with them.I was told they start you off as a bather only and if you show them you can finish bathing a dog FAST enough, they will then choose you as someone to train as a groomer in full and get you certified whereupon you make 45% commission per animal serviced.If you don’t do it fast enough, you are NOT chosen to be trained as a groomer.The goal, I was told, was to finish bathing AND grooming a dog in under 45 minutes ultimately.I was told that after ONLY TWO weeks training under a professional, suddenly, the bather is to work as a bather ALONE in a small van with NO SUPERVISION until they show they can bathe dogs FAST enough before they decide if they want to train them as a groomer, and again, this bathing job is open for people who have NEVER had experience bathing dogs before.He clarified at the end of the interview that they may reach out to an interviewee and either offer that they find bathing experience and then reapply or decide to hire them.I asked him, hypothetically for the time I’d be left alone to bathe the dogs, would I, as a trainee (after only two weeks of bathing training), be given only dogs that have been bathed by their company before or are accustomed to being professionally bathed? (because a first time dog experience at a professional grooming place with a complete stranger, for me or my pets, should never be in the UNSUPERVISED hands of someone who has had only two weeks professional training experience in their entire lives bathing an animal) His response was NO, they don’t filter the dogs out for the trainees. You get a mixed bag of dogs.To leave your dog, alone in a van with someone who has little experience and your dog happens to be one who’s a rescue or a fearful anxious dog can be disastrous all around.I wanted to make sure I would do the best in caring for the animals so next I asked, do they take pets that have never been professionally bathed and if so, was there a system in line to slowly introduce them into the bathing experience or do they just immediately go into bathing and grooming? He said, they immediately go into bathing and grooming (in their under 45 minutes quota) because if he were to try to offer packages easing dogs into it they wouldn’t t make any money. Just boldly and laughingly saying this! The owner!Please imagine what that can be like as a first time experience.This is a company with a fleet of vans, that told me their multiple groomers make $100k+ a year at 45% commission and are soon to be expanding to Riverside if they haven’t already, and his statement was as if his business was in need of making more money to survive.Having read the reviews here of some people being shocked that their dog was finished in 15 minutes or came back smelling and still wet or worse, cut up I had to shed some light on what I learned today.This is my opinion only that this place isn’t taking the kind of precautions I would like a place to if i was looking for a grooming place. Please take your time in finding a genuine good mobile company or groomer, and usually they aren’t the ones that are turning their business into a fast food chain version of bathing and grooming. You and your furry loved ones deserve better!read more
